Backend Engineer (.NET): Building and enhancing scalable and reliable systems for optimizing B2B energy assets and integrating them into hirify.global's Virtual Power Plant. Focus on developing platforms for customer asset participation in energy markets and ensuring system reliability under high integration load.

Location: Must be based in the Netherlands. Work 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexibly. May work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively, with manager approval.

Salary: €79.000 – €108.000 Gross annual salary including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance, and bonus/collective profit sharing.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services and integrations in .NET/C#.
• Build solutions that optimize B2B assets (batteries, rooftop solar) behind the meter.
• Develop aggregation services that pool distributed assets and integrate them into the Virtual Power Plant.
• Enable smaller assets to participate in energy markets as part of hirify.global's portfolio.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with other .NET developers, testers, and product managers.

Requirements

• Solid experience with .NET/C# and backend development.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and microservices.
• Must be based in the Netherlands and fluent in English.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Experience in designing and implementing event-driven architectures.
• Deep knowledge of Azure cloud observability tools and services.
• Knowledge of energy management, optimization systems, or energy markets.
• Experience building aggregation or portfolio management platforms.
