Network Engineer (Starshield)

Salary: $140,000–$170,000/per year (Level II)

What you will do

• Manage and expand network interconnections, co-location sites, and points of presence (POPs).
• Oversee network infrastructure and deployments to Top Secret datacenters.
• Improve network performance, reliability, and security, including capacity planning and failure remediation.
• Lead network integration, troubleshooting, and optimization efforts.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and network engineers to enhance Starshield network design.
• Build automation for network devices, operational, and deployment tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline; OR 4+ years of professional networking experience deploying enterprise or cloud/web-scale networks.
• 1+ year of networking experience (internship/co-op experience qualifies).
• Hands-on experience with Layer-1 (transport, DWDM, optical fiber, circuit troubleshooting, activations) and networking hardware (routers, modems, switches, firewalls).
• Deep understanding of service provider networks, including connectivity (Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS), routing (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), switching, and Internet services (subscriber provisioning, BRAS, DNS, DHCP, NTP).
• Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder), Refugee, or Asylee, or eligible for required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
• Experience implementing network security functions.
• Cisco, Juniper, Arista or other industry certification.
