TL;DR
Network Deployment Engineer: Building out and expanding a global network infrastructure with an accent on datacenter operations, physical and logical networking, and network installations. Focus on aggressive execution of network expansion, implementing consistent processes, and integrating cutting-edge technology and automation solutions.
Location: This position is local to the Austin TX, Atlanta GA, New York, New York, Washington D.C, or Denver CO metropolitan areas. If located in Austin, Washington D.C. or New York, there is an expectation of 2 days per week in-office.
Salary: $110,000–$135,000

What you will do
- Provision, monitor, and maintain hardware, software, and network in new hirify.global data centers.
- Create documentation and manage remote contractors for datacenter installations and upgrades.
- Aggressively seek opportunities to introduce cutting-edge technology and automation solutions.
- Plan and implement network and server installations, including facility power, cooling, security, rack layout, and cable management.
- Coordinate installation of cross-connects globally in support of physical network expansion.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience in Data Center Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Linux systems administration, Network Engineering, and/or DevOps.
- Familiarity with day-to-day tasks and projects common in Data Center Operations.
- Experience with optical transport technologies such as CWDM/DWDM.
- Configuration management tool experience like Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
- Knowledge and exposure to Network Protocols, Topologies, and Enterprise architecture.
- Ability to write scripts for internal tools and solve problems through automation.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree, technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS.
- Direct experience executing on datacenter/infrastructure projects with many moving parts.
- Strong understanding of BGP and anycast routing.
- Professional level network certification(s) (JNCIP, CCNP, etc.) or higher.
- Good working knowledge of Juniper Junos, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, and Arista EOS.
- Proficient in one or more programming languages and willing to learn new ones.
