What you will do

• Provide 2nd level technical support for networking brands including Hirschmann, GarrettCom, and Tofino.
• Analyze customer issues, provide recommendations, and recreate complex network connection problems.
• Advise customers on network design, configuration, and high-availability implementations.
• Collaborate with Level 3 engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Develop knowledge base articles, application notes, and internal technical procedures.
• Travel to customer sites as required, approximately 30% of the time.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong background in ethernet communication, routing (OSPF), and legacy protocols (T1/E1, RS232/422).
• Deep understanding of MPLS-TP architecture, label switching, and fault-tolerant design.
• Proven experience using Wireshark for data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Ability to reside within commuting distance of Charlotte, NC.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on remote technical assistance.

Nice to have

• Programming or scripting skills in Python.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
• Experience with Power Transmission, Distribution, or Transportation applications.
