What you will do

• Own and evolve the target API architecture, aligning with AWS-native, contract-first, policy-as-code approach.
• Define and maintain API standards, including OpenAPI specification, versioning, and schema governance.
• Architect identity and security models for internal/external consumers using Cognito OIDC and AWS SigV4.
• Architect and maintain polyglot service templates with integrated authentication, telemetry, and CI pipelines.
• Define standard integration patterns for inbound/outbound integrations, ensuring interoperability and schema compatibility.
• Establish API observability baselines and guide remediation of systemic technical debt.
• Lead design reviews and champion API product thinking across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience designing and operating scalable API platforms using AWS API Gateway, ALB, Lambda, Fargate/ECS, Cognito, IAM, EventBridge, and one or more of these stacks: .NET Core C#, Python, and/or TypeScript.
• Strong expertise in contract-first API design using OpenAPI and/or GraphQL, with deep knowledge of versioning, compatibility rules, and schema governance.
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorisation patterns, including OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and AWS SigV4.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred) and modern DevOps/CI/CD practices.
• Ability to define and evolve platform-wide architectural standards and create opinionated templates.
• Strong cross-functional communication and leadership skills, able to influence product owners, engineers, and executives.
