Location: Requires working in Boston, US, in a hybrid or full-time in-office capacity. Remote roles within the US are available only to candidates residing in specific states (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin).

Salary: $168,200–$257,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Develop and manage a Technical Art team comprising Rigging TDs and Technical Animators.
  • Drive and deliver high-quality character, vehicle, and weapon workflows, pipelines, and animation solutions using digital content creation tools and real-time engines.
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, including performance management and hiring.
  • Estimate and plan work with Directors and Production.
  • Prototype, research, integrate, and extend rigging and animation systems.
  • Actively participate in performance evaluation and optimization to ensure seamless gameplay experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in the video games industry, including at least one shipped AAA title.
  • Experience leading a technical art team.
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine 5 Rigging and Animation Systems.
  • Animation pipeline knowledge, including developing and scripting tools for Maya, MotionBuilder, or other DCC applications.
  • Proven track record of building character, vehicle, and weapon workflows and pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

  • Strong C++, C#, or Python tool development and scripting professional experience.
  • Experience in animation performance/memory optimization.
