Location: Redmond, United States. Employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and improve web platform features in the Chromium rendering pipeline to bridge the gap between native applications and the web.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and program managers on open-source projects.
• Partner with standards and upstream communities (W3C, Chromium) to shape APIs and implementation details.
• Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine with a focus on customer and web developer needs.
• Contribute directly to the Chromium project for aspects that can be shared with other Chromium-based browsers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
• Cross-platform development experience.
• Experience contributing to a large-scale software engineering project.
• Design, coding, and debugging skills in modern programming languages.
