Lighting Artist (Unreal Engine): Creating balanced and atmospheric lighting for in-game environments and cinematics with an accent on enhancing game environments through lighting and creating visual effects. Focus on maintaining runtime performance, optimizing lighting, and enhancing project mood through storytelling.

Location: Onsite in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. This is a UK-based 12 month Fixed Term Contract role.

What you will do

• Collaborate with design and technical art teams to create balanced and atmospheric lighting for in-game environments and cinematics.
• Understand composition to enhance game environments and locations through lighting.
• Create lighting related visual and post effects.
• Maintain and ensure runtime performance and optimization.
• Enhance the project's mood and tell stories through lighting.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of lighting experience on a AAA project.
• Experience using Lumen in Unreal Engine 5.
• Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 4 / 5 and Maya.
• Extensive experience with 2D packages such as Photoshop/Substance.
• Solid understanding of Shaders and materials.
• Strong Environment or Tech art background and artistic education to at least graduate level.
• Strong folio including examples of realistic modelling and environment.
• English: B2 required for strong verbal, written and visual communication skills.
