TL;DR

Lead VFX Artist (Gaming): Building and fostering a strong VFX team and shaping the visual identity of Project Hadar, a new original IP, with an accent on R&D development, efficient pipeline design, and cross-team collaboration. Focus on prototyping, researching, and integrating particle effects in Unreal Engine 5 while ensuring content performance and budget adherence.

Location: Hybrid in Warsaw, Poland. Relocation to Poland is required.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and guide VFX artists, fostering innovation and excellence.
• Develop and optimize VFX workflows.
• Prototype, research, and integrate particle effects for the game in Unreal Engine 5.
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines to support gameplay, characters, cinematics, and environments.
• Craft project vision and estimate workloads with directors and Production.
• Research new and innovative workflows, pushing the limits of VFX.
• Ensure VFX content is performant and within budgets.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in the gaming industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
• Experience with both real-time and baked simulation.
• Knowledge of standard 3D software (Max, Maya, or Blender).
• Understanding of rendering techniques, real-time shaders, and lighting.
• Understanding of performance and optimization.
• Fluent English (C1) (both written and spoken).
• A portfolio must be included in the application.
