What you will do

• Collaborate with SRE leadership and product development teams to define and document SLIs and SLOs.
• Deliver key observability, monitoring, and alerting improvements for faster issue detection and incident resolution.
• Take accountability for the delivery of significant changes, managing risks and dependencies.
• Lead major incident response investigations, ensuring system recovery and leading post-mortems.
• Participate in on-call rotation and run Production review meetings based on data.
• Contribute to DR and systems resiliency testing and improvements.
• Mentor and guide junior SREs and product team engineers on SRE practices.
• Support the migration of markets applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Requirements

• Experience with Linux-based systems.
• Experience with Cloud-based platform(s), with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience a bonus.
• Strong coding capabilities in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and ideally Java.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across disciplines.
• Experience driving reliability improvements across a team or service.
• Must be based in Belfast, United Kingdom, for hybrid working.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working in a DevOps or SRE role.
• Experience with metrics & monitoring tools (OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience and knowledge of working with distributed systems, Docker & Kubernetes.
• Good knowledge of networking (HTTP/TCP/UDP/IP).
• Experience in Financial markets, REST services, and message-oriented middleware.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
