Salary: £85,493 - £105,000

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end oversight of the Group's Transaction Monitoring and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) screening capabilities.
• Drive continual improvement and development initiatives, implementing new business practices for risk management.
• Provide independent opinion and challenge on the business's management of transaction monitoring and PEP risk.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, government, and regulators on financial crime risk mitigation.
• Contribute to intelligence and data-led approaches for identifying key economic crime risks.
• Deputise for the Head of Function and mentor a small team of colleagues.

Requirements

• Extensive understanding of data used in decisioning and threat mitigation.
• Proven experience with Transaction Monitoring and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) Screening tooling and strategies.
• A well-developed risk management focus with the ability to influence critical teams.
• Demonstrated experience engaging at a senior leadership level with partners, government, and regulators.
• Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to analyse complex issues to shape group direction.
• Hybrid work model, requiring at least two days per week at an office site in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Halifax, or Leeds (UK).

Nice to have

• Experience in accountable decision-making during high-pressure situations.
• Ability to evaluate and build robust control frameworks.
• Experience in building data-led analysis techniques, ideally for Economic Crime risk.
• Knowledge and practice of the full lifecycle of preventing and responding to economic crime.
• Understanding of advanced technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence.
