Senior Data Scientist (Generative AI): Designing, building, and deploying robust, scalable machine learning models for core product features with an accent on end-to-end implementation of AI/ML systems and MLOps best practices. Focus on evaluating new AI tools, papers, and techniques to ensure product innovation and solving complex challenges related to LLMs and advanced prompt engineering.

Location: Hybrid (New York City, NY). Must be based in New York City, NY and authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Salary: $175,000–$200,000

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy robust, scalable machine learning models for core product features.
• Take full ownership of the model development process from data sourcing to deployment.
• Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for model performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to define possibilities and evaluate cutting-edge AI tools.
• Champion and implement MLOps best practices, including model versioning and automated training pipelines.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MS/Ph.D.) in CS, Engineering, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping production-level AI/ML systems.
• Deep foundational knowledge of LLMs, including transformer architecture, attention mechanisms, RAG, fine-tuning, and advanced prompt engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, PyTorch).
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing models in a major cloud environment (AWS preferred) and familiarity with modern data platforms (Snowflake).
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to work 4 days a week in the New York City office.

Nice to have

• Experience building autonomous AI agents or multi-agent systems.
• Contributions to major open-source AI projects.
• Knowledge of model optimization techniques (quantization, distillation).
• Experience with multi-modal models (text, image, audio).
