What you will do

• Build a solid and scalable claims automation architecture aligned with business and product goals, involving backend logic, AI components, and cloud infrastructure.
• Acquire a deep understanding of the claims business domain and map it into maintainable code and systems.
• Identify code requiring renewal and help transform high-utilization systems.
• Provide technical guidance and help raise engineering quality within the squad.
• Support high system reliability, performance, security, and compliance with end-to-end ownership.
• Influence software delivery practices, improving tooling and automation for team productivity, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on web application backends.
• Strong analytical and architectural skills applied to complex, domain-driven systems.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and software design best practices.
• Hands-on experience building applications on public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Excellent domain modeling, relational database design, and experience designing and operating asynchronous processing systems and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in more than one programming language, ideally including Ruby/Ruby on Rails, and proven ownership of production systems, including observability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams and clear and effective verbal and written communication skills (English).

Nice to have

• Experience with integrating AI into customer-facing production systems.
• Experience building products in the context of insurance, banking, or logistics.
• Experience in process automation architecture.
