Lead Data Engineer

TL;DR

Lead Data Engineer (Python/AWS): Building and optimizing data engineering capabilities and technical direction for clients with an accent on technical leadership, data pipeline development, and cloud-native data platforms. Focus on solving complex data challenges, improving technical skills within the team, and ensuring appropriate technical direction for client needs.

Location: Amsterdam - Onsite requirement 2 days per week

What you will do

• Be hands-on, initially 100% billable, helping to build technical capabilities for clients.
• Help win new clients by solving technology problems and developing pragmatic solutions.
• Lead engineering and development thinking for your club, aligning with business strategy and client needs.
• Guide and support the improvement of technical skills for developers within your club.
• Define coding standards and ensure their adherence during client assignments.
• Provide technical oversight for challenging engineering activities on client work.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Dutch Speaking.
• Strong skills in Python for data engineering and pipeline development.
• Advanced SQL for structured data querying and transformation.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Kafka.
• Expertise in the AWS ecosystem for cloud-native data platforms and scalable data pipeline architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and data workflows in cloud-native environments.

• Ability to think about technology strategically and communicate plans effectively.
