What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and implement synchronisation solutions for service platforms and customers at scale across various transport technologies.
• Manage the entire technology cycle of in-life platforms and security to ensure connectivity and safety.
• Develop roadmaps, manage budgets, and implement technology improvements for platforms.
• Utilise knowledge of future technology and research to benefit strategic timing platforms.
• Simplify the timing estate to improve cost-effectiveness and management.

Requirements

• Strong Network Design, Test and Integration skills with a solid understanding of ethernet-based converged core and access network technologies.
• Comfortable working with high-level concepts and low-level detail at both equipment and network levels.
• Strong communication skills to engage with and present to colleagues, senior managers, directors, and external customers.
• Ability to matrix-manage teams and resources to ensure alignment to roadmaps, technical strategy, and technology introduction.
• Expertise in managing platforms, including support for products and interfaces with other BT platforms.
• Professional Certifications and qualifications in appropriate network technologies are required.

Nice to have

• Member of a professional body e.g., Institution of Engineering and Technology or similar.
• Awareness of synchronization technology, timing technology, and techniques used in an Ethernet / Packet network.
