Location: Hybrid in Kraków, Poland (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

What you will do

• Build and maintain Java services (Spring Boot) that handle real-time trading operations and significant data throughput.
• Develop event-driven systems using Kafka to ensure responsive trading platforms.
• Develop skills across the full stack, including CI/CD pipelines and AWS deployments.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to deliver client-focused features.
• Implement observability through monitoring, alerting, and tracing to proactively catch issues.
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and troubleshoot production incidents.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience, primarily with Java.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (ideally Kafka or similar, e.g., AWS SNS/SQS).
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), including deploying and operating applications.
• Experience working with containerised applications and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Good understanding of relational databases, including writing SQL queries and understanding transaction isolation levels.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Expected experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Strong English-language communication skills and the ability to work effectively in globally distributed teams.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
