Senior Machine Learning Scientist (AI): Leading high-impact AI projects and shaping the technical direction of bespoke solutions with an accent on defining data science approaches, designing robust software architectures, and mentoring junior colleagues. Focus on conceiving core data science approaches, developing innovative algorithms, and ensuring best practices for high-quality, impactful delivery.

Location: Hybrid working (2 days in London office). Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) and willing to work 2-4 days per week on-site with customers throughout the UK. Flexible to work remotely from elsewhere within the UK when not on client sites.

What you will do

• Lead high-impact AI projects and shape the technical direction of bespoke solutions.
• Define end-to-end data science approaches and design robust software architectures.
• Lead project teams that deliver bespoke algorithms and high-stakes AI solutions to clients.
• Mentor data scientists and support the professional growth of technical team members.
• Partner with commercial teams to build client relationships and shape project scope.
• Contribute to hirify.global’s thought leadership and ensure best practices are followed.

Requirements

• Senior experience in a professional data science position or a quantitative academic field.
• Strong programming skills, with fluent Python programming, using core libraries (NumPy, Pandas) and a deep-learning framework (e.g., PyTorch).
• Deep expertise in core data science paradigms (supervised/unsupervised, NLP, validation) and ability to develop new, innovative algorithms.
• Leadership mindset, focused on growing the technical capabilities of the team and nurturing a collaborative culture.
• Commercial awareness, with experience in client-facing work and the ability to translate business problems into a rigorous mathematical framework.
• Skilled in project planning, assessing technical feasibility, estimating delivery timelines, and leading a team to deliver high-quality work on a strict schedule.
