What you will do

• Review, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback on submitted manuscripts in electrical engineering, data science, machine learning, and related fields.
• Oversee the peer review process and provide outstanding author service.
• Establish and strengthen relationships with scientists in the physical science area through outreach and recruitment of high-quality papers.
• Travel to scientific conferences and visit academic institutes to enhance journal visibility.
• Contribute to strategic planning and journal development with the editorial team.
• Build effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond to shape science communication.

Requirements

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Electrical Engineering with strong hands-on experience in coding, algorithm development, engineering principles, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated research experience in a relevant field with a broad scientific interest and a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Ability to critically evaluate research and a willingness to learn new areas of research.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative problem-solving mindset.
• Interest in engaging with the scientific community.
• Ability to work successfully both independently and within a diverse global team.

• Previous editorial experience with a good understanding of the journal publishing process.
