TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer: Building and optimizing intuitive, powerful recruiting software with an accent on delivering robust, scalable features for a new engineering hub. Location: Hybrid in Barcelona, Spain. Relocation support is provided for Spain.

Salary: €70,000–€85,000 / year

What you will do

  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps/platform teams on feature development.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to engineering retrospectives.
  • Define technical requirements and identify optimal solutions to meet team goals.
  • Participate in discussions focused on testing, architecture, automation, and coding standards.
  • Focus on delivering value and improving the overall user experience for customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with a strongly typed language or TypeScript.
  • Strong experience with RDBMS (raw queries or via ORM).
  • Solid background in unit and integration testing.
  • Experience with message brokers (SNS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, etc.).
  • Must be based in Barcelona, Spain, for a hybrid work setup.
  • English: B2+ required for effective team collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, GCP or AWS, gRPC and protobufs.
  • Strong grasp of SOLID principles.
