Location: Remote (Spain). We are able to offer visa sponsorship for this role, but do require that someone is based in Spain for the role.

Salary: €101,000–€131,000 per year

What you will do

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale, tying it to critical, business-impacting projects.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ensure technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are understood and managed.
• Act as a force-multiplier for your team through technical solutions and operational processes.
• Take ownership of your team’s operations and availability by ensuring proper monitoring, triage, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting for on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards for your team and advocating for them through writing and tech talks.
• Develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proficient in designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in developing web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality with a defined technical and execution plan.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to support effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
• Must be based in Spain for the role.
