R&D Engineering Co-op (Software Engineering)

TL;DR

R&D Engineering Co-op (Software Engineering): Providing technical support for design, test, documentation, and implementation of software solutions with an accent on writing and testing software and creating software tools. Focus on assisting senior engineers in product development and ensuring software functionality and documentation.

Location: Onsite in Tampa, FL, USA. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

What you will do

• Perform engineering tasks including writing and testing software.
• Create software tools.
• Update drawings and documentation.
• Gather data and prepare reports.
• Provide administrative and technical support to the Engineering department.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree (or higher) college/university program in Engineering, preferably Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
• Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications.
• Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented.
• Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Nice to have

• Knowledge/experience in Frontend development (Angular, React, Vue, Typescript).
• Knowledge/experience in Backend development (C#, .NET, C++, Python, Node).
• Knowledge/experience in Data storage and messaging (PostgreSQL, Neo4J, RabbitMq, Kafka, WebSockets).
• Knowledge/experience in DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, OpenShift, Jenkins, Terraform, GitLab Runner).
• Knowledge/experience in Cloud Systems (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Knowledge/experience in Virtual Reality and 3D modeling (Unreal Engine, Unity).
