Location: Full-time onsite at our Toronto office

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 CAD base salary

What you will do

• Design and build strong, resilient, and robust APIs, libraries, and services for financial services including clearing, settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity.
• Own functionality and scalability features by taking responsibility from inception to deployment and customer integration.
• Expose and document functionality for UI, third-party developers, and internal/external tooling.
• Collaborate closely with all engineering teams and product managers to ensure consistency in technical understanding and work quality.
• Provide mentorship to peers through code reviews and education on best practices.

Requirements

• Experience with server-side languages like Golang, TypeScript/Node.JS, Java, or Python.
• Experience developing or supporting financial accounting systems, such as general ledger and bookkeeping functions.
• At least 2 years of back-end, server-side software development.
• Experience with SQL databases like MySQL or Postgres.
• Confident with RESTful API design.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline from a top university.
• Strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
• Familiarity with Containers and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of and experience working in the financial industry.
• Familiarity with digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
