Senior Backend Engineer (Golang): Building and optimizing high-performance backend services for fan-to-artist monetization features with an accent on large-scale distributed systems, complex integrations, and high-throughput data flows. Location: Hybrid, primarily based in New York, Atlanta, or other East Coast US locations. Must be eligible to work in the US and for US-based benefits (e.g., 401k, health insurance).

Salary: $130,000 - $170,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Golang, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, and Protobuf.
• Build and scale systems for fan-to-artist monetization features, enabling artists to grow their careers and engage with fans.
• Collaborate with product leadership, payments experts, and engineering teams across the organization.
• Become a domain expert in fan monetization and artist-fan engagement.
• Operate independently, driving projects from inception to completion with minimal guidance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and operating high-traffic distributed systems.
• Proven ability to function independently while collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability from project start to delivery.
• Production experience shipping services in Golang, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, and Protobuf.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing services in cloud environments (AWS preferred) using Terraform.
• Familiarity with messaging/queuing systems such as Kafka, Kinesis, and SQS.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL, BigQuery, Redis).
• Passion for using emerging AI technologies to enhance coding and software quality.
