What you will do

• Develop core functionality for customer-facing and internal products, systems and data platforms, and e-commerce capabilities using modern frameworks.
• Develop extensible platforms and architectures that make it possible to quickly and efficiently launch new products and lines of business.
• Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems.
• Develop the APIs powering the web & mobile platforms for our product portfolio.
• Work with software engineers, designers, QAs, product managers, business stakeholders, and domain experts.
• Own your work end-to-end - from scoping & planning, architectural design decisions, implementation and testing, to production deployment and operations.

Requirements

• Experience building web backends in Node.js/Typescript or a willingness to learn on the job.
• Familiarity with scalable cloud architectures, design patterns, and best practices.
• Practical experience with CI/CD and IaC (Infrastructure-as-code).
• Experience with databases & data management practices - relational databases & search engines.
• Experience with TDD and testable code - unit / integration / performance testing.
• Great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way to non-engineering teammates.

Nice to have

• A degree in CS or equivalent is a plus.
• Practical experience with building scalable & highly reliable cloud systems that support products used by millions of users around the world 24/7.
• Familiarity with modern JS frameworks.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.
• An eye for user behavior and design and attention to detail.
