What you will do
- Research and develop novel rigging and skinning techniques for the hirify.global Avatar Engine.
- Create robust, scalable rigging systems and automation tools using Python and Lua.
- Collaborate with engine engineers and product teams to ensure smooth character deformations across devices.
- Identify pipeline bottlenecks and design intuitive tools to improve artist efficiency and avatar quality.
- Bridge Art, Design, and Engineering by translating creative vision into technical reality.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Mateo, CA, United States.
- 10+ years professional experience as a Technical Artist or Rigger in games, VFX, or tech applications.
- Strong portfolio showcasing complex character rigging systems.
- Proficiency with DCC tools (Maya, Blender) and scripting languages (Python required, Lua a plus).
- Deep knowledge of anatomy and vector math/linear algebra for realistic movement simulation.
- Strong R&D mindset with ability to solve complex technical challenges.
