TL;DR

Resident Customer Support Engineer (AI): Involved in daily technical operations and escalations, responding to customer issues, evaluating problems, and solving for issues at customer sites. Focus on developing and testing solutions in strategically and tactically significant applications and use cases, including file protocols, machine learning, object storage, and high-performance computing, and collaborating with pre-sales and engineering teams.

Location: Onsite at the customer office in Memphis, TN, with no option to work remotely. Ability to travel around 20% of the time.

What you will do

  • Handle daily technical operations and escalations for customers, working towards full resolution.
  • Perform customer installations, upgrades, and expansions of hirify.global products.
  • Lead and coordinate regular monthly and quarterly customer review meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to ensure full adoption and usage of VAST products.
  • Support and guide hirify.global account teams on technical status and activities.
  • Submit and manage Feature Requests and Bugs to product and development teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing, pre-sale/post-sale positions with complex storage solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, and storage space.
  • Knowledge and working experience in common Linux system administration and OS.
  • Good understanding of networking, configurations, and troubleshooting on Linux.
  • Bash scripting is required; familiarity with one or more other programming languages.
  • Significant experience with file systems and scale-out NAS implementation.
  • Excellent business written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel around 20% of the time.
  • Rotational weekend shift once every 8-12 weeks and occasional holiday coverage required.

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with S3 and high-performance computing.
  • Hands-on lab and hardware management experience.
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing entrepreneurial, dynamic startup.
  • MS or B.Sc. in CS, CE, EE or related fields.
