Engineering Manager (Crypto)

TL;DR

Engineering Manager (Platform - Risk Platform, Travel Rule): Leading and coaching a team to build and optimize a compliant, scalable crypto Travel Rule solution with an accent on comprehensive compliance across the crypto industry and robust protection of customer privacy. Focus on implementing multi-year strategies for risk engineering, making diligent architectural decisions, and accelerating product team efforts.

Location: Hybrid (Canada). In-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company-wide offsites.

Salary: $217,900 CAD

• Implement multi-year strategy for Risk engineering with technical leadership.
• Coach direct reports to have a positive impact on the organization and chart a fulfilling career path.
• Provide thoughtful technical guidance and support the team in making diligent architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn vision into a tangible roadmap.
• Work with talent organization to source and hire amazing engineers who expand hirify.global culture and product.
• Contribute to owning and delivering processes to drive engineering quality and meet engineering SLAs.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
• Possess a strong understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering processes.
• Execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results.
• Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
• Experience in creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Ability to be hands-on when needed (writing/reviewing code/technical documents, on-call rotations, leading incidents, triaging/troubleshooting bugs).
• Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Nice to have

• Experience building financial, high reliability, or security systems.
• Exposure to or experience building online fraud prevention systems.
