Senior Network Engineer (AWS/Azure)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure (on-premises and cloud: AWS/Azure).
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and secure access control solutions.
• Monitor network performance, proactively identify issues, and lead ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change activities.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, and operations teams to support incident response and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud.
• Deep hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies, ideally recent CCNP or equivalent level.
• Strong practical knowledge of firewalls, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with wireless technologies and secure access control (e.g., Cisco ISE).
• Experience using monitoring platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, PRTG) and interpreting performance data.
• Strong understanding of network security principles including segmentation, encryption, and access control.
• Clear understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Confidence in change implementation, with strong awareness of network stability and rollback planning.
• Eligibility for UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SD-WAN solutions or cloud-network integration.
• Experience with content switching or load balancing (e.g., F5, Kemp, Citrix NetScaler).
• Familiarity with network scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Ansible).
• Understanding of ISO27001 controls and how they apply to networks.
• Experience supporting security incident response or integrating with SIEM platforms.
