Network Engineer

TL;DR

Network Engineer: Evaluating, engineering, designing, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale Data Centre networks with an accent on collaboration with the Enterprise Computing, Security, and End-User technologies teams. Focus on selecting appropriate platforms, developing Bill of Materials, designing new network topologies, and providing weekend escalation support for projects.

What you will do

• Author design documents, engineering standards, and best practice technical architecture models.
• Mentor and transfer knowledge to team members across the organization.
• Participate in weekly design meetings and engage with project managers.
• Serve as an escalation point for operating teams during network outages.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Computing, Security, and End-User technologies teams.
• Design new network topologies, create diagrams, and develop migration plans.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience designing and implementing large-scale networks, preferably with a Financial Services Firm.
• Expert-level technical skills in Ethernet technologies (SPT, 802.1Q, VPC, Multilayer Switching, Leaf-Spine IP Fabric).
• Expert-level knowledge of IP Routing (RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPBGP, TCP/IP).
• Proficiency in Multicast routing (PIM, IGMP, MSDP, VxLAN).
• Platform knowledge on Cisco Switching & Routing Platforms (Nexus 9000, ASR 1000x, ASR 9000).
• Platform knowledge on Arista Switching platforms and various Network OS (Cisco IOS, NXOS, Arista EOS).
• Strong security focus with experience in Network Security Concepts and Multi-tier Security architectures.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Microsoft applications like Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Ability to use AI services such as Microsoft CoPilot to increase productivity.
• Proficient in UNIX or Linux.
• CCIE or equivalent certifications.
• Experience with scripting / automation using Python / Ansible.
• Knowledge of SDN, SDWAN, DMVPN, Kubernetes, storage over IP, VMWare.
