Director of Product, Life Sciences (Chemistry)

Expected base salary: $184,000–$256,000 USD annually, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

• Set the long-term product vision, roadmap, and portfolio priorities for therapeutics products spanning antibodies, nucleic acids, targeted delivery, in vivo cell therapy, and small molecules.
• Translate platform capabilities into commercial therapeutic programs and define target product profiles across design, synthesis, characterization, developability, and scale-up.
• Drive product execution from concept to launch across science, ML, automation, data engineering, and software teams.
• Represent the product domain to executives, scientific leaders, partners, and customers as a senior external voice.
• Own commercial outcomes including opportunity shaping, proposal development, deal closure, and revenue.
• Define technical, product, and commercial milestones and report progress to leadership.

Requirements

• MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in biochemistry, protein science, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of drug discovery and development workflows, including assays and methods used for decision-making.
• Experience advancing therapeutic programs from molecules toward the clinic or building platforms used for that work.
• 7+ years of product leadership experience building and launching complex technical products, such as therapeutic platforms, scientific software or hardware, data products, or ML-enabled systems.
• Strong executive communication and the ability to influence research, engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
• Credible working knowledge of retrosynthesis, SAR, DEL, and property optimization, with a focus on chemistry and small molecules.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated or self-driving laboratories and ML approaches relevant to drug discovery and molecular science.
• Knowledge of LLMs and other AI solutions applied to scientific discovery and product development.
• Experience partnering with biopharma or research organizations to define collaborative milestones and workflows.
