Senior Texture Artist

TL;DR

Senior Texture Artist: Creating textures, colours, and organic surface qualities for CG creatures and hard-surface models used in production with an accent on implementing the desired look of complicated CG models. Focus on collaborating with production teams and mentoring junior artists while maintaining high-quality work.

Location: Hybrid (Vancouver, Canada). Employee will work 2-3 days onsite at a Company designated location and occasionally from home.

Salary: C$112,200–C$143,600 per year

What you will do

• Implement the desired look of complicated CG models, including complex creatures and hard-surface models.
• Participate in design solutions and provide feedback to production teams in dailies.
• Mentor junior and mid-level Artists.
• Maintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting scheduled targets and producing high-quality work.

Requirements

• At least five years of relevant professional VFX experience and a college-level diploma or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography; OR at least seven years of relevant professional VFX experience in lieu of education.
• Proficient in Maya, Mari, Zbrush, Photoshop, and UV unwrapping tools.
• Ability to navigate complex pipelines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Work authorization for Canada is required.

Nice to have

• Modeling, Groom, and Look Development knowledge.
• Katana and Houdini experience.
• Feature Animation experience.
