Location: This position will be based at hirify.global headquarters in Foster City, CA. Frequent travel within and out of state will be required.

Salary: $156,000–$187,000 a year

hirify.global is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and lead hirify.global’s state political and legislative strategy for the Western Region.
• Foster and maintain relationships with state officials, their staff, and other key external stakeholders.
• Manage state-level political consultants and lobbyists.
• Track current and emerging political activity and policy developments relevant to hirify.global’s operations.
• Represent hirify.global at state-level association and political events.
• Provide support to hirify.global’s engagement with state regulators and regulatory proceedings.

Requirements

• 8+ years of public policy experience within state government and/or relevant nonprofits, public interest groups, businesses, campaigns, or industry associations.
• Track record of successfully building, implementing, and evaluating complex, cross-functional public policy and government affairs projects.
• Extensive political and community network at the state level in the western US.
• Keen understanding of the state-level legislative and political processes.
• Experience negotiating legislation and advocating complex policy positions before a wide variety of audiences.
• Experience with AV, transportation, or other technology policy.

Nice to have

• Experience working across many different states and familiarity with different states’ legislative processes.
• Experience managing consultants and/or small teams.
• Experience with policy related to new technology development and/or bringing a new product to market.
• Advanced Degree (J.D., MBA, MPP, MPA, etc.).
