Engineering Manager (Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid role, requiring work from Austin, TX, Sunnyvale, CA, or Redmond, WA office 2-3 times a week. This position is open to U.S. candidates only, requiring the ability to pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year

• Ensure all clusters and required software are kept up to date.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience using Kubernetes as a primary underlying platform.
• Experience with Cilium, Cluster Autoscaler, KEDA, Flux, and Gateway API.
• Solid understanding of monitoring and alerting strategies to reduce noise.
• Experience managing remote teams across multiple time zones in the U.S. and Europe.
• Strong communication skills to articulate crisply at all levels.
• Must be able to work from Austin, TX, Sunnyvale, CA, or Redmond, WA office 2-3 times a week.
• Ability to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks.

Nice to have

• Management or first-hand experience with distributed or concurrent systems.
• Experience with Golang, including knowledge of CRDs.
• Experience with AWS IAM, EC2, AutoScale Groups, and Spot Instances.
• Experience with Chef, Terraform, and Ansible.
