TL;DR
CORE Data Senior Engineer (Telecommunications): Supporting the migration of legacy EPC infrastructure to cloud-based architecture, working with Packet Core network components and virtualized environments with an accent on deployment, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of network nodes. Focus on analyzing call flows, ensuring seamless service delivery, and maintaining design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Location: Hybrid work in Évora, Lisboa, Fundão, or Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal.

What you will do
- Deploy, integrate, and configure Packet Core network components (e.g., SGSN, GGSN, MME, PGW).
- Analyze and document call flows across various nodes and interfaces in the packet core network.
- Troubleshoot packet core issues to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Execute comprehensive acceptance test plans for new network elements and services.
- Support migration and go-live strategies in coordination with TPM and customers.
- Work with virtualized environments, including Kubernetes, OpenStack, Linux, KVM, VMware, and VNF configuration/management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in IP domain and/or Packet Core networks.
- Strong hands-on experience with Packet Core nodes (SGSN, GGSN, MME, PGW) and mobile network standards (2G–5G, LTE, VoLTE).
- Solid knowledge of IP/MPLS protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, LDP, RSVP, and related mobile interfaces.
- Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies: Kubernetes, OpenStack, Linux, KVM, VMware, VNFs.
- Good communication skills and ability to work proactively in multicultural, cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Nokia Packet Core Products (CMM / CMG / NRD) and certifications.
