Location: Remote within British Columbia, Canada; in-studio and hybrid options also available in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2025 and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Salary: $1,600–$1,800 CAD weekly

What you will do

• Design and animate effects (smoke, clouds, fire, lava, water) utilizing Houdini.
• Work with FX Supervisor, FX TDs, lighting, and CG Supervisor to determine technical and creative approaches.
• Produce look tests based on provided concepts.
• Ensure weekly assigned quotas and expectations are met by the team and meet production deadlines.
• Lead, teach, and guide a team of FX Artists to create the assigned show style.
• Collaborate closely with FX Supervisors and the Production Coordinator to achieve deliverables and resolve potential issues.

Requirements

• Previous industry experience working in a studio environment on an episodic show.
• Strong knowledge of Houdini Dynamic tools.
• Good understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena.
• Strong technical skills within a show structure.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve.
• Experience rendering with Mantra.
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead less experienced artists.
• Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must have resided within British Columbia as of December 31, 2025.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a lead role.
• Prior experience in the CG animation industry.
• Basic knowledge of Nuke, Renderman, and/or Katana.
