The Opportunity
Join the founding team to build an embedded finance platform for the UK/EU, with global expansion plans. Work with a proven team (ex-PwC, Solaris, SumUp, Visa, SAP) and own the tech from day one.

The Role
As a Founding Engineer, you will scale and build our core banking engine and payment infrastructure.

Technical Challenges:
- Lead technical projects with Visa & Mastercard’s fintech services;
- Build infrastructure for 100,000+ monthly transactions from day one;
- Scale solutions across multiple countries and currencies using Open Banking;
- Securely handle sensitive financial data.

You will:
- Own payment integrations with leading UK/EU providers and direct integrations with Visa/Mastercard;
- Design and develop high-performance APIs for efficient request and data handling;
- Build a data pipeline for real-time compliance checks using financial data;
- Maintain and scale our Card Issuing and Open Banking platform;
- Take end-to-end ownership of tasks: from requirements and architecture to testing, rollout, and maintenance;
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and UX teams to deliver seamless solutions.

Must have:
- 5+ years building fintech/lending/banking backends;
- Experience with high-throughput transaction processing systems;
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and data pipeline architecture;
- Understanding of financial systems and risk decisioning; - Russian and English - fluently.

Nice to have:
- Elixir experience (or similar languages like Erlang, Ruby, Java, Python, Go);
- Experience at companies like Revolut, Wise, Monzo, Curve, or BNPL/lending fintechs;
- Familiarity with UK/EU Open Banking APIs (Salt Edge, Nordigen, Tink);
- Scaled consumer products to 100k+ users;
- Experience with UK & EU payment systems;
- Former founding engineer with 0→1 journey experience.
