Tech Stack: Elixir (modular monolith), React, TypeScript, Next.js, Flutter, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus, DigitalOcean (with a potential transition to AWS), PostgreSQL

About the Role:
We are looking for a brilliant Senior/Lead Elixir Backend Engineer to help scale and build our core banking engine and payment infrastructure.

Will do:
- Develop payment functionality, including routing, payment initiation, and card issuing and more ;
- Design and develop high-performance APIs for efficient request and data handling;
- Create payment integrations with leading UK&EU payment providers, as well as Visa/Mastercard;
- Build a data pipeline that transforms financial data into real-time compliance checks;
- Develop high-throughput transaction processing systems;
- Contribute to the end-to-end software lifecycle, including CI/CD, monitoring, alerts, and production support;
- Maintain and scale payment functionalities, including card issuing programs ;
- Collaborate closely with frontend teams, Product, UX, and backend peers.

Required (must have):
- Higher technical education in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science;
- 5 - 6+ years of experience building fintech, lending, or banking backends (more experience is a plus);
- Proven hands-on experience in banking, fintech startups and successful fintech/banking product launches;
- Strong Elixir expertise with experience in scalable production systems;
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and data pipeline architecture;
- Understanding of financial systems and risk decision-making;
- Results-driven mindset, excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills;
- Ability to thrive under pressure, adapt quickly, and take ownership of outcomes;
- Personal qualities: Integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Will be a plus:
• Experience at leading fintech companies such as Revolut, Wise, Monzo, Curve, or other BNPL/lending fintechs;
• Experience with UK/European open banking platforms/APIs (e.g., Salt Edge, Nordigen/GoCardless,Tink);
• A track record of building consumer products that scaled to 100k+ users;
• Hands-on experience with UK&EU payment systems;
• Prior experience as an engineer, having contributed to the 0→1 journey of a product or company.
