TL;DR

Senior AI Engineer (Cybersecurity): Developing AI agents that leverage LLMs to help analysts investigate alerts, understand threats, and respond faster with an accent on building tools, retrieval and planning strategies, and guardrails. Focus on iterating closely with users and experts to ship valuable AI-driven security capabilities.

Location: Hybrid. Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace.

What you will do

  • Work closely with users, security experts, PMs, and data scientists on cutting edge AI agents.
  • Develop tools, retrieval and planning strategies, and guardrails; manage prompts/evals; design fallbacks and human‑in-the-loop paths.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and partner teams to build cohesive experiences.
  • Prototype and iterate closely with users and experts to ship software.
  • Follow the latest research on GenAI and AI agents.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Backend engineering experience (Go, Python, Java, etc.) with a focus on code simplicity and performance.
  • Relevant work experience with LLMs, large-scale systems, machine learning, or adjacent fields.
  • Experience shipping software that uses LLMs to production.
  • Good communication skills.

  • Excitement to work in the security domain.
  • Fluency with offline/online evals for AI systems.
  • Experience scaling products in a high-growth SaaS environment.
