Senior Software Engineer (GameDev)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (GameDev): Designing and implementing new in-game features and optimizing existing ones for a global blockbuster game, with an accent on architectural drive for gameplay systems and UI implementation. Focus on developing underlying backend systems, server functionality, and monitoring live issues affecting gameplay.

Location: Fully remote throughout the United States. You must be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States. We do not sponsor visas or support employment outside the U.S. for this role.

Salary: $150,000 - $195,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Drive the architecture and implementation of functional and elegant gameplay systems.
• Bring wireframes, prototypes, and UIs to life within the game.
• Establish, share, and iterate on best practices for code architecture.
• Create tools and systems that can be reused to provide value in other parts of the game.
• Develop underlying backend systems and server functionality to support front-end features.
• Monitor and repair live issues affecting gameplay.

Requirements

• 5+ years of game development experience.
• Experience developing Godot or Unity applications.
• Ability to implement user interfaces and gameplay features from the ground up.
• Experience with modern mobile game design and architecture paradigms.
• Legally authorized to work and reside in the United States.
• No visa sponsorship or employment outside the U.S. for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience creating persistent data schemas, versioning, and data migration.
• Willingness to mentor other engineers.
• Experience with Git, .NET, and AWS.
• Experience with Cursor or other AI assisted tools.
