What you will do
- Stabilize and scale the platform to improve fault tolerance and ensure high availability for mission-critical phone services.
- Optimize resource usage to handle millions of operations while reducing cloud costs.
- Lead long-term refactoring efforts, deprecate legacy systems, and introduce scalable patterns.
- Strengthen data protection, access controls, and auditability across the platform.
- Improve tooling, observability, and automation to accelerate engineering workflows.
- Work with product, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to align on platform priorities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience, including designing fault-tolerant systems and working on high-scale platforms.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous job processing.
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL data models.
- Proven track record of architecting complex systems and delivering scalable, high-performance web apps in production.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, API design, and microservices architecture in a multi-tenant environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with clear and collaborative communication across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI Tools and contributions to open-source tools, internal platforms or engineering blogs.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and building full-stack web applications.
