What you will do
- Define and communicate the product design vision for the consumer experience across exploration, shopping, and delivery.
- Own end-to-end design, creating experiences that blend functionality with emotion for simple and rewarding everyday tasks.
- Lead, empower, and mentor a diverse team of designers, fostering a culture of curiosity, craftsmanship, and open feedback.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research to shape strategy, define problems, and build products people love.
- Advance Picnic’s design language by shaping scalable, beautiful, and accessible design systems used across products and markets.
- Drive innovation by exploring bold ideas, prototyping fast, continuously testing with real users, and turning insights into impactful product experiences.
Requirements
- MSc. degree in Industrial Design or a relevant design field.
- At least 3 years of experience leading product design in fast-paced, digital environments.
- A portfolio showcasing end-to-end product thinking, solving real problems for real people.
- A hands-on maker and collaborator, working with designers to push ideas further and elevate craft.
- Deep experience in design systems and interaction design, with a knack for driving end-to-end product success.
- An inspiring communicator, able to align teams around a clear vision and make complex ideas simple.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments where autonomy, experimentation, and impact go hand in hand.
- Fluency in English required (C1); speaking Dutch is a plus.
- Available to work on-site fulltime in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
