What you will do
- Demonstrate high-quality engineering by leading hands-on and embodying a world-class engineer.
- Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear visibility of work programs, guidance, and mentoring.
- Partner with other engineering leads in UK Tech and actively participate in cross-team initiatives.
- Provide regular reporting and objective metrics on availability, technical risks, and project progress.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Core Java, including leading a team of engineers.
- Strong engineering mindset and hands-on Java experience, able to lead by example in delivery and operational support.
- Keen interest in ongoing learning, both business and technical, to gain deep understanding of IG's trading business.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to assess risks and articulate priorities to stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail.
- Track record of delivery and operational efficiency improvements.
