Location: Remote from Poland or the US (CA, TX). Occasional evening meetings may be necessary to ensure smooth communication across time zones.

Salary: 35 000 – 44 000 PLN + VAT on B2B or equivalent on the contract of employment

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of seven mid and senior engineers, fostering their growth for higher impact and effective teamwork.
• Manage Hippo's top strategic engineering space, the Insurance Products charter, from technical direction to delivery.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to manage the team’s project roadmap, clarifying requirements and balancing technical excellence, agility, and user benefit.
• Influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders within Hippo.
• Show strong technical leadership with a data-driven mindset, focusing on excellent execution and high-quality software.
• Coordinate with teams in global locations across the US and Poland.

Requirements

• Experience in designing scalable, maintainable systems with a solid architectural understanding.
• Successfully led one or more teams as a people manager.
• Strong technical proficiency with JavaScript/Node.js, TypeScript, React, and Python.
• Great command of English and Polish (both written & spoken).
• Open to working across locations, including Poland and the US (CA, TX).
• Availability in the afternoons for occasional evening meetings to ensure smooth communication across time zones.

• Insurance industry experience, especially in the US Home insurance domain.
