Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Platform)

Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Platform): Building and maintaining a scalable, reliable compute platform for product development teams with an accent on cloud infrastructure, networking, and observability services using AWS and Kubernetes. Location: This is a hybrid role requiring three days of on-site work per week in the office in Berlin, Germany. Relocation: Relocation to Germany is supported by a relocation agency and attractive package.

• Develop state-of-the-art products around cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, Docker, networking, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Support company-wide adoption of cloud technologies and your team’s products.
• Solve challenging problems within a distributed system serving millions of customers.
• Apply product thinking when developing team tools and services.
• Mentor teammates and support their professional development.
• Share knowledge through blog posts, meetups, and conferences.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of cloud providers (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform) and their services/APIs.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes microservices architectures and internal components.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages, preferably Typescript, Javascript, or Go.
• Ability to create and consume Rest APIs.
• Empathy for developers and a passion for internal platforms as a service.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to drive problem-solving and productivity.

Nice to have

• Experience with designing and operating a network architecture in the cloud (AWS ALBs, CDNs, AWS VPCs).
• Experience with AWS CDK, Python, Kotlin/Java.
• Experience building/maintaining backstage.io based developer portals.
