What you will do

• Work on a variety of AI engineering tasks such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflow optimization.
• Identify and apply emerging AI capabilities to enhance the Poe product.
• Take end-to-end ownership of applied AI systems from prototyping to deployment at scale.
• Collaborate with product teams to uncover new AI-driven opportunities.
• Develop tools and abstractions for other developers to build upon.

Requirements

• Availability during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri 9am-3pm Pacific Time)
• 2025 or Summer 2026 graduate or pursuing B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong engineering skills in Python or TypeScript.
• Understanding of mathematical foundations of machine learning algorithms.
• Experience with LLM applications or transformer models.
• Passion for continuous learning and team improvement.

Nice to have

• Previous software engineering experience via internship, work, or coding competitions.
• Hands-on experience with LLM and prompt engineering.
