TL;DR

Software Engineer II (AI): Building data platforms to fuel business analytics, machine learning models, and real-time reporting at massive scale. Focus on designing and operating high-scale, high-performance systems that process billions of events through near-real-time and offline pipelines.

Location: Must live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location and are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD $100,600 – $199,000 per year.

What you will do

• Work with BingAds stakeholders to determine requirements for new features to drive up Ads business.
• Implement features with high efficiency, extensibility, diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability with few defects.
• Maintain operations of live service as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis.
• Build knowledge, share new ideas, and share pinpoints of engineering tool gaps to improve software developer tools.
• Profile and analyze distributed system performance and capacity bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience in Azure.
• Experience in machine learning and online system design, implementation and qualification.
• 2+ years’ experience in Distributed Systems and Big Data Technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka, Flink, Scala.
