Senior Platform Engineer

TL;DR
Senior Platform Engineer: Managing cloud services and tooling to enable engineers to efficiently and securely develop and run services on Kubernetes in AWS with an accent on cloud networks, security policies, and low-level cloud services. Focus on administering Kubernetes clusters, exploring new tools and services, and assisting engineers with best practices.
Location: Brooklyn or US Remote. Must be based in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

What you will do
- Own fundamental cloud services and tooling, managing cloud networks, security policies, and other low-level cloud services using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Administer Kubernetes clusters to meet the needs of the engineering team, exploring new tools and services to improve application security and reliability.
- Assist engineers with best practices for using and deploying to the platform, administering CI/CD, and other internal tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
- Proficient with at least one high-level programming language such as Python or Go.
- Strong Kubernetes fundamentals and experience with Helm or other common tools in the ecosystem.
- Strong infrastructure as code skills using Terraform.
- Broad experience across many cloud services within a major cloud provider (AWS).
- Experience with observability platforms (Datadog).
- Experience writing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
- Experience being part of an on-call rotation to fix urgent issues.
Nice to have
- Experience with Jenkins Shared Libraries in Groovy.
- Experience with Kubernetes tools such as Vault, Sealed Secrets, Istio, Consul, Prometheus, etc.
