Location: This role can be based in our New York or San Francisco offices, or fully remote anywhere in the United States. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role at this time.

Salary: $113.5-190.8k + stock options.

What you will do

• Architect and own the US data model from end-to-end, identifying gaps and building the roadmap in collaboration with the Lead Data Scientist.
• Make critical calls on leveraging existing global models vs. building new, US-specific solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the global AE team (UK) to ship data modeling improvements for the US market and the entire company.
• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-quality data models that power US-specific products and analytics.
• Act as the go-to technical owner for dbt, data modeling, and the data stack for the entire US team.

Requirements

• Be a true builder who thrives on autonomy, acting as a self-starting architect, problem-solver, and technical leader.
• Be a dbt and SQL expert with deep, significant experience in data modeling, ELT/ETL, and building "data as a product."
• Be a Git pro, proficient in using Git/Github to develop, review, and collaborate in a large, shared codebase.
• Be a world-class communicator, able to work effectively across timezones (US/UK) and translate complex technical concepts to any audience.
• Have an unyielding bar for quality and a deep-seated commitment to data accuracy and reliability.
• Be genuinely excited to tackle the messy, high-impact challenges of a new market and build a bank from the ground up.

Nice to have

• Experience with LookML (or a strong willingness to learn it).
• Experience with Python for data manipulation or scripting.
• Experience working with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow.
