Backend Architect: Shaping the heart of hirify.global’s technology by driving the efficiency, scalability, and security of high-load, distributed systems with an accent on core product features, critical infrastructure services and databases. Focus on architecture design, technology selection, system integration, scalability, performance and reliability.

Location: Hybrid approach (office + remote, depending on team and location) in London, New York, Málaga, Tbilisi, and Limassol. Relocation support is available.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend architectures.
• Evaluate and recommend backend technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Analyze, refine, and approve specifications and technical requirements for service development across teams.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration between backend systems, frontend components, databases, third-party services, and APIs.
• Design systems that can handle high traffic loads while ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and guidelines to maintain high code quality and readability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in backend development (Go, Java, and Python), with at least 3 years in an architect role focused on distributed, high-load systems.
• Strong background in object-oriented design, multithreading, SQL/NoSQL databases, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong engineering mindset with analytical thinking and a collaborative attitude.
• Proficiency in writing clear and structured technical documentation.

• Experience or knowledge of finance and trading.
