What you will do

• Support editorial teams in commissioning and producing content for impact across various channels and verticals.
• Advise the curation team on story optimization and placement to maximize engagement and drive new learnings.
• Prepare and share daily SEO and performance insights to inform editorial priorities for the U.S. News team.
• Curate the homepage, front of app, and other key indexes, applying editorial judgment and optimization skills.
• Monitor and report on daily search trends, rankings, and search performance, making recommendations to journalists and editors.
• Use real-time analytics tools like Chartbeat to drive insights and elevate the on-site experience through A/B testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience working in digital publishing in a news environment, ideally with experience in an audience, SEO, or growth role.
• Strong understanding of SEO strategies and best practices and how to apply them to editorial output.
• Demonstrated ability to do keyword and trend research to provide actionable recommendations.
• Experience working in a CMS and with tools like Google Trends, Google Search Console, Chartbeat, and parse.ly.
• Strong editorial judgment, ability to craft effective headlines, and select visuals.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including communicating effectively with people remotely across multiple BBC sites.
