Senior Fullstack Engineer (Healthcare)

Senior Fullstack Engineer (Healthcare): Building new Medicare and Medicaid products from the ground up, developing user experiences that help people understand coverage options, surface savings opportunities, and enroll in healthcare plans. Focus on shaping technical architecture, internal tooling, and scalable integrations with healthcare and government systems.

Location: US Remote. Accepting applications from the states we have an established entity, which includes California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Salary: $165,000 - $230,000 depending on experience and interview performance.

What you will do

• Build software systems used by millions of low-income Americans.
• Build iOS and Android apps using Vue + TypeScript + Capacitor.
• Develop server-side software using Python and Flask, backed by Postgres and Redis; leverage AWS offerings as well as other open source technologies.
• Create software that is reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
• Collaborate with the Product and Design team to scope projects and execute on innovative products.
• Participate in our on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining complex full-stack software.
• Experience with a startup environment or the ability to operate effectively when faced with ambiguity.
• Fluency in Python and JavaScript or a willingness to learn and specialize in these languages.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences and topics.
• Computer science degree or equivalent fundamentals learned elsewhere.
• Passion for making a difference in the lives of our users.

Nice to have

• Experience with or knowledge of government services, particularly safety net services like SNAP, WIC, TANF, SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Section 8.
